Italiano: Eroe armato che doma il leone; bassorilievo da Khorsabad, risalente al periodo di Sargon II (VIII secolo a.C.), alto m 4,45 è in pietra alabastrina. Conservato presso il Museo del Louvre. In passato tale figura è stata identificata in modo erroneo con Gilgameš; in realtà si tratta di una figura risalente al periodo protodinastico e utilizzata nei rilievi di Šarrukin (Khorsabad) per decorare i prospetti esterni delle corti, vedi Enrico Ascalone, Mesopotamia, Milano, Electa, 2005, p.15 |
