Italiano: Napoli, Catacombe di San Gennaro, piano superiore, ambulacro massimo, subito a sinistra della scala di accesso - Arcosolio di un cubicolo di VI sec.d.C. - Tre defunti in atteggiamento di preghiera (con le braccia levate), probabilmente una famiglia: sulla sinistra una donna di nome Hilaritas con tunica e velo scuro, senza ornamenti; sulla destra un uomo con corta barba nera, Teotecnus, con tunica rossa e clamide bianca decorata con antilopi saltellanti; al centro una bambina, Nonnosa, con tunica rossa fermata in alto da una cintura ornata con una grossa gemma nel mezzo, file di perle che scendono lungo la tunica, ed altre perle che ornano la scollatura, le maniche, e il copricapo; al di sopra della sua testa una corona, simbolo di vittoria. Ai lati della famiglia, coppie di candele.
English: Fresco on a wall of a tomb in the Catacombs of San Gennaro at Naples in Italy. The dead, probably members of a family, are standing with their arms raised, praying. On the left side a woman Hilaritas wrapped up in a plain gown. To the right a man with a short black beard Teotecnus wearing a tunika with a light klamis over it, which is decorated with jumping antelopes. Between them a girl Nonnosa with a red dress and a belt around her breasts decorated with a precious brooch, pearl necklaces hanging over her dress and more pearls covering her neck, her sleeves and her headgear. Over her head, a crown, the symbol of victory. On the left and on the right side there are standing two candles.
Deutsch: Katakomben des San Gennaro in Neapel, Italien. Fresco aus dem V. Jahrhundert n.Chr. an der Wand eines Grabes. Die Verstorbenen, wahrscheinlich Mitglieder einer Familie, stehen im Gebet mit erhobenen Armen. Links eine Frau, Hilaritas, eingehüllt in ein schmuckloses, dunkles Gewand, das auch ihr Haupt bedeckt. Rechts ein Mann mit kurzem schwarzen Bart, Teotecnus, er trägt eine rote Tunika und darüber eine helle Klamis, die mit hüpfenden Antilopen verziert ist; in der Mitte steht ein Mädchen, Nonnosa, mit einem roten Kleid und einem Gürtel auf Brusthöhe der mit einer kostbaren Brosche geschmückt ist, während Perlenketten über dem ganzen Kleid herunterhängen, und andere Perlen den Ausschnitt, die Ärmel und die Kopfbedeckung schmücken; über ihrem Kopf schwebt eine Krone, Symbol des Sieges. Auf beiden Seiten begrenzen je zwei Kerzen die Szene.
